How do I update my primary care provider?

MassHealth customer service should be contacted if you need to change the location where you see your doctor. MassHealth may be having a heavy call volume so you may experience a longer wait time. MassHealth can be reached at 1-800-841-2900.

How can I find out which hospitals and specialists to go to?

No, your MassHealth benefits stay the same. Will this change cost me money?


Can I keep my doctor?

Yes. You will continue to receive care from your primary care doctor because your doctor is part of Steward Health Choice.

If I’m happy with my doctor, what do I have to do next?

Good news – if you’re happy, do nothing!

Who can I talk to if I want to switch doctors?

Steward Health Choice has over 3,000 doctors. In addition to doctors, our nurses, social workers, and pharmacists are here to listen to your needs and provide the very best care. If you would like to find a new doctor, please call: 1-855-860-4949

Will I get a new member ID card?

You will keep your current MassHealth ID card (the card with the picture of Massachusetts on it), and you’ll also receive a member ID card from Steward Health Choice. Starting March 1, please bring both cards to all of your appointments.

How do I update my contact information?

You can update your contact information by calling Steward Health Choice’s Member Services department at: 1-855-860-4949. We also encourage you to call MassHealth customer service at 1-800-841-2900 so MassHealth has your correct information.

What is Steward Health Choice?
